You've found the blog of Tenshi Vess, not quite a genius, unfortunately not yet a billionaire, not at all a playboy, and not exactly a philanthropist either. Ah well, there are robots, so it's close enough.

Tell me again why a women’s liberation movement is no longer needed.

Dear “I don’t need feminism” crowd…

The Iowa Supreme Court on Friday stood by its ruling that a dentist acted legally when he fired an assistant because he found her too attractive and worried he would try to start an affair. Coming to the same conclusion as it did in December, the all-male court found that bosses can fire employees they see as threats to their marriages, even if the subordinates have not engaged in flirtatious or other inappropriate behavior. The court said such firings do not count as illegal sex discrimination because they are motivated by feelings, not gender." [x]

i hope all old white men burn in hell

Are you fucking kidding me.

"Afraid to start an affair" sounds a lot like "im probably gonna assault her" to me.

ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew men are fucking gross

/vomits everywhere/ but then if women come to work to try and look gross and unappealing so men don’t “fear they might start an affair” it’s “not professional”. Christ… I can’t even.

I really want a movie that goes through the standard ‘chosen one’ tropes, with the average-guy-destined-to-be-a-hero and the badass-chick-who-is-clearly-not-a-hero-because-she’s-a-girl

until the end

where the guy /finally/ finishes his training or whatever and goes to meet the evil boss…but the boss isn’t there, it’s just the chick sharpening her sword or whatever surrounded by dead bodies. she looks up, shrugs at the “hero“‘s confusion and explains that he was being entirely useless so she took care of it

and then there’s a parallel movie about how she did it (it doesn’t mention hero guy at all bc lbh he’s not important) and a sequel that shows how she continued to be a badass and save the universe and the guy realized he just wasn’t suited to be a hero so he settled down with someone and became a stay-at-home-dad

My Least Favorite Trope (and this post will include spoilers for The Lego Movie, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Matrix, Western Civilization, and—cod help me—Bulletproof Monk*.) is the thing where there’s an awesome, smart, wonderful, powerful female character who by all rights ought to be the Chosen One and the hero of the movie, who is tasked with taking care of some generally ineffectual male character who is, for reasons of wish fulfillment, actually the person the film focuses on. She mentors him, she teaches him, and she inevitably becomes his girlfriend… and he gets the job she wanted: he gets to be the Chosen One even though she’s obviously far more qualified. And all he has to do to get it and deserve it is Man Up and Take Responsibility.

And that’s it. Every god-damned time. The mere fact of naming the films above and naming the trope gives away the entire plot and character arc of every single movie.
